BRITISH YOUTH NATIONALS
SAT 24th JULY & SUN 25th JULY 1015
July is looking set to be our next month of busy racing and the highlight of the month has to be the British Youth Nationals formally known as the BYMX Championship.
This event is run by RHL Activities in association with the ACU and the MRA for this round only at Desertmartin .
This championship is a pre- entered event from the start of 2015 BUT each round will have wild card spaces for each classes as some of the riders don't take up their places at particular round . To get an entry you need you to contact Penny at RHL – email email@example.com . Don't leave it too late as spaces are filled up quickly.
This is a great event to have back at our Desertmartin Track and the Cookstown & District Motocross Club is looking forward to welcoming competing riders and their families from the mainland. 'The Desert ' , as it is fondly know, is the home track for all our local riders who have been travelling over to the mainland to the other rounds of this championship , so its good for them to have a round on home sand .
More details nearer the time .
Youth Irish Championship 19th July 2015
The Cookstown Club will be running Round 6 of the Irish Youth 2015 championship on the Saturday before the British Youth at Desertmartin . This event is open to all riders with an MRA or MCUI License . Riders from the Mainland can also compete proving they have riding permission with them from their governing body . Day licenses can only be issued to riders who live in Northern Ireland , Counties Monaghan , Cavan or Donegal as long as they provide proof of age at signing on .
An entry form for this event will be available from the start of June although entries will be taken on the day .
Remember Folks- It doesn't matter if you are in the top 10 , top 20 or top 40 – set your own goals for the new season and make it your year for improving but most importantly 'Enjoy your Motocross, and support racing '
MOUNTAIN VIEW MOTOCROSS TRACK & 'THE DESERT' PRACTICE TRACK
Mountainview Motocross Track has now opened for practice days for just over a year and so far the feed back has been very good . Its only half a mile from our main track and is a sand based track suitable for riding in all weather .
We have also set up a practice track at 'The Desert ' which is out in the back section of the track . It is used on set days as we alternate between tracks .
Both tracks run under controlled timed session and groups are grade according to ability ie grade A riders will not ride out with Grade c , youth will ride separate from adults and quads will not be out with solos etc . this way we keep safe practice and everyone gets loads of safe practice time . Flag marshals and first aid trained staff are always there.
Normal days of opening at this stage are Monday to Friday for all bikes – quads , sidecars , solos but riders must book in for week days – contact 07927 990313 before 9.00pm the previous night .
Mountainview will be open most Saturdays (weather permitting ) but may vary from week to week as we try to give everyone maximum track time ie One week all Solos Youth and adult , next week maybe Quads and adult solos or youth might be at the Desert while adults are at Mountainview – follow us on face book to see what is happening each week or text 07731438170 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for updates .
Club membership form for 2015 are now available and as many of you know to get an MRA license form for the race season the rider must be a member of a club .
If you would like to join the Cookstown Club please down load a membership form , fill it in and post off with the fee to the name on the bottom of the form .
The 2015 MRA license forms will forwarded once membership has been returned .
